Just ok
I find the number of 5 star reviews for Cyber Dust to be suspicious. Its an OK app but not worthy of 5 star reviews (that sound like they were written by people with a vested interest).
Cyber Dust has always been a bit glitchy. Previous versions frequently crashed, but fortunately this one doesnt seem to do that as much. However, it does seem to freeze up. I can send a message and then open the app an hour later and have it tell me that I just sent a message 1 minute ago. When I force close the app and open it again it will then finally update (and show all the messages that have since come in but didnt notify me about). Wish theyd have fixed that instead of adding a bunch of animated emojis that are absolutely awful.
I also wish that the app would allow you to see messages for the full amount of time even if you close the conversation screen. For example, lets say a message comes in and will disappear 10 seconds after I start reading it. If I accidentally close the screen after 2 seconds I cant go back in and see the message for another 8 seconds...it is just gone. The problem with this is that it is very easy to close the screen just when a message comes in, meaning you have to ask the person to resend whatever they just sent. On the other hand, you dont want to leave the conversation screen open because if you get distracted and look away messages will appear and disappear without you ever seeing them.
I recommend Cyber Dust but users should be aware that it has its problems and be wary of these five star reviews.
